Shelby Supercars recently announced the name of the yet to be launched supercar. The company named its new machine “Tuatara” which is inspired by the modern day New Zealand reptile. The reptile is known to be the direct descendent of the dinosaur and means ‘peaks on the back' in Maori.
According to the company the body of the car is made of carbon fibre and the wheels and chassis are made of space age material. The 7.0-litre V8 engine will be mid-rear mounted and will power the rear wheels of the car. Even though details on the performance of the car are not available, most experts believe that Tuatara will be the fastest car on earth that will beat the 267 mph record.
